신박하다

「동사」 '신기하다' 라는 뜻으로 쓰는 말, 게임 WOW 유저들로부터 유래 되었으며 게임내 직업인 신기(신성기사)의 별명인 신박(신성바퀴벌레)을 넣어 사용, 일부 국민들은 표준어로 알고있을 정도로 널리 퍼졌다.

Used to mean "amazing/novel." Originated with World of Warcraft players, drawing on the nickname for the Paladin class ("sinseong-gisa," shortened wordplay to "sinbak," which also puns on "cockroach"). It spread so widely that many Koreans now think of it as standard vocabulary.
