벼락거지

It is the opposite of "instant millionaire." It is a neologism referring to a situation where, as real estate prices skyrocket, the wealth gap between homeowners and non-homeowners widens significantly in a short period, causing someone to become relatively destitute in an instant. While interpretations vary, it is merely a relative expression and not absolute. It is also used to describe someone who has lost their entire fortune through gambling or Bitcoin.

벼락부자'의 반댓말이다. 부동산 가격이 폭등하자 집을 소유한 사람과 소유하지 않은 사람의 자산 격차가 단기간에 크게 벌어져, 한순간에 상대적으로 거지가 된 상황을 일컫는 신조어이다. 해석은 다분하나, 상대적인 표현일뿐 절대적이진 않다. 다른 용도로는 도박이나 비트코인 등으로 전 재산을 모두 잃은 사람도 벼락거지라 한다.
